BA (Music)
Nicole’s musical life began when her mother and father sang and played the guitar while she was still in utero. She was later drawn to learning the piano at the age of 6 and at the age of 13 began learning the BIG double bass.
After completing a Bachelor of Music degree in 1996 and playing in orchestras including the WA Symphony Orchestra, Nicole decided to follow her interest in working with music as a therapeutic tool. She worked as a music specialist with the elderly and people with dementia for 3 years and saw first-hand how music can immediately transform a person into a happier state of being. Since then her interest turned into a passion as she began researching more about the power of sound and integrating what she learnt into her daily life.
After experiencing using sound as a powerful tool during her third homebirth Nicole felt a strong desire to follow her heart and create “Soundbirth”. She hopes that Soundbirth will support women in using their voices with confidence not only to assist with having an empowered birth experience, but to create a deep and lasting connection with their babies even before they are born.
Nicole believes that if more babies are born gently into the world and then parented in a happy home this will assist in transforming the state of the planet.
