Practitioners - Paula McLoughlin

Margaret Martin

Diploma of Remedial Massage (ATMS), Infant Massage Instructor (IAIM)

Paula trained as a Remedial Massage Therapist in Perth graduating in June 2006 to work as a Massage Therapist in a healthcare centre promoting holistic approaches in the wellbeing and care of self.

Believing touch to be inherent in the care of ourselves and our families, Paula expanded into infant massage instruction, a field that promotes bonding and attachment in infants and parents providing a foundation for positive experiences from birth through to adult, and the community as a whole. Paula's special interest in baby massage originated from her work in massage therapy and also from receiving massage herself from a very young age. Through receiving massage and experiencing the feelings it invokes Paula realised the neccessity of relaxation and the role it plays in helping to sustain todays hectic pace of life.

Paula is a member of the Association of Infant Massage, promoting nurturing touch and communication between infants and caregivers through training, education and research. Instructing parents to nurture their infants, through verbal and non verbal communication, relaxation and fun one-on-one time together. Infant massage enables parents to experience (through the basics of touch) enhanced bonding between themselves and their children. Through infant massage instruction, adults are empowered in their ability to know and bond with their child. Infant massage, an ancient modality still practised today, as it has been for thousands of years in some civilizations, has finally been embraced by western culture as worthwhile in the wellbeing of individuals and communities (proven by research).
